Levi United FC is Victorious in their First Fall 2022 Inaugural Game

Published Aug 10, 2022

Brunswick Counties Semi Professional soccer team, Levi United FC, had their first home game of their inaugural season in the First Flight League this past Saturday at West Brunswick High School. LUFC played AC Raleigh, a team from Raleigh, NC.

LUFC's head coach, Emmanuel Sarkorh, praises his team on a great overall performance that resulted in a 3-1 win.

AC Raleigh came into the season as a league favorite. So, getting a win in the first game was key to LUFC to set the tone. Coach Sarkorh said “We knew this game was a must-win for us because we lost to AC Raleigh in our last preseason game. We wanted to prove that we are a talented team willing to work hard for victory. AC Raleigh was a good team and they made us work hard.

Overall, LUFC’s defense performed great and made it difficult for AC Raleigh to get through. The offense did well with scoring 3 goals and leading the team to win the game. Players were working hard to make sure the first game of the season was a success in front of the home crowd. The fans gave the players the extra push needed to keep playing at 100% in the hot weather.

After the game, coach Sarkorh said “I told the team to reset and get ready for the next game against Bragg FC. We still have room for improvement. We cannot be satisfied with just one win. We want to approach every game one at a time. This team is new to this stage, and I want us to have a solid season.”

LUFC plays Bragg FC away this weekend in Fayetteville, NC at Jordan Soccer Complex. We invite everyone to come out and support!
